Sept 21- Nov 30th No classes the week of Thanksgiving Monday Evenings 6pm CST Live Zoom Classes + Recordings of Class + Weekly Assignments
Guided by BB Bowness, in this 10 week class, students will learn 8 fiddle tunes on the banjo developing the three different styles of bluegrass banjo: melodic, single string, and scruggs style. To culminate the experience, each student will select one of the newly learned tunes to play in a master class with Béla Fleck and or Tony Trischka. Each week, BB will send your lesson to you 6 days before your class. Then you, as the student have all week to practice and prepare for class. You will be expected to come to class prepared with the assignment. Weather it is a song, a technical assignment, a transcribed solo, or another exercise, you will be expected to have put the time into the assignment before showing up to class. Time in class will be spent breaking down difficult passages, moving through technical hurdles and making sure that each student has the opportunity to have questions answered. Classes will be limited in number so that there is space and time for students to connect with BB, and share the work they have been putting into their instrument.
